2-Day Mui Ne Trip
Deserts, landscapes, and history in beautiful Mui Ne.
Home to Vietnam’s desert lands, our tour in Mui Ne offers a fabulous 2-day excursion from Ho Chi Minh City. Our first port-of-call takes in Phan Thiet’s Van Thy Tu Communal House, an 18th century temple containing the largest whale skeleton in South-East Asia. We’ll continue to the Poshanu Tower, an ancient Cham monument and still an important site today.
Following lunch, it’s time to take a walk through nature with a visit to the Fairy Stream. This peaceful path through ankle-deep water is a haven of tranquility and wildlife. Marvel at the stalactites and the colors on display, from the sands and rocks to the trees and fauna. In the afternoon, you’ll also have time to take in Mui Ne’s miles of coastline, for some swimming, surfing, or simply relaxing on the beach.
Set your alarm for a pre-dawn start as we’ll be off on a Mui Ne dunes tour on day 2! Arriving just before the sunrise, you’ll experience the unique transition of the red sand dunes warming up, as the sun bathes them in a myriad of color. Take the short walk to the highest dune and you’ll have an excellent vantage point over the city and ocean too.
We’ll continue to the white sand dunes, boasting beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. Here, you’ll have the option of exploring the dunes by foot, or by taking a white-knuckle jeep tour across the sands (cost of jeep not included in tour).
Next up, we’ll take in a fishing village nearby. Here, you’ll experience an ancient way of life, see a mixture of sailing vessels, and sample the best of that morning’s catch. We’ll take a well-deserved break for a delectable lunch before our Mui Ne tour ends and we return to Saigon.
