Cu Chi Tunnels Tour & Saigon History
Cu Chi Tunnels Tour and the best of Saigon’s history in just one day!
We’ll head out to Cu Chi District and leave the city behind for the morning. En route, we’ll stop for a rest break and visit a lacquer painting and handicraft workshop. Upon arrival at Cu Chi, you’ll be introduced to the area and hear about the history of the tunnels. We’ll then head to the forest and explore several tunnels first-hand, before learning about the Vietcong’s tactical approach and unconventional weaponry.
The history theme continues in the afternoon with a tour round Saigon’s most important attractions. We’ll begin with a visit to the Central Post Office, a monument to French colonialism and an impressive sight both inside and out. From here, we’ll take a short walk to the fabulous Notre-Dame Cathedral, with its double bell towers and no less than 52 stained-glass windows.
We’ll move on to visit the Reunification or Independence Palace, a former base for French, Japanese, and South Vietnamese governors until the end of the war in 1975. Alternatively, you can visit the War Remnants Museum for a sobering reminder of Vietnam’s history, and a study of both the French and American conflicts.
Finally, we’ll drop by Ben Thanh Market for a browse and to experience the Saigonese way of life.
