Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City

Upon your arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our representative who will assist you with your transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you have two options for your first day in this bustling metropolis.

Option 1: Morning Arrival

 

If you arrive in the morning, take advantage of the afternoon to explore some of Ho Chi Minh City’s most iconic landmarks:

 

  • Central Post Office: A stunning example of French colonial architecture, this post office is a beautiful historical site and it’s still very much in use!
  • Notre-Dame Cathedral: This neo-Romanesque cathedral is a must-see for its impressive stained glass and serene atmosphere.
  • Independence Palace: Also known as the Reunification Palace, this historic site offers a glimpse into Vietnam’s past .
  • War Remnants Museum: For an understanding of Vietnam’s history, this museum provides poignant exhibits related to the Vietnam War.
  • Jade Pagoda: A tranquil escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, this pagoda is adorned with intricate carvings and beautiful statues.
  • Ben Thanh Market: End your day at this lively market where you can shop for local handicrafts, souvenirs, and enjoy some street food.

Option 2: Afternoon Arrival

 

If you arrive in the afternoon, prepare for an enchanting evening tour of Saigon:

 

  • Chinatown (Cholon): Discover the vibrant streets of Chinatown filled with bustling markets and traditional shops.
  • Saigon Central Post Office: Stop for photos at this iconic landmark illuminated by evening lights.
  • Flower Market: Experience the colourful sights and fragrant aromas of one of the city’s busiest markets.
  • City Hall and Saigon Opera House: Capture stunning photos of these architectural gems that showcase the city’s colonial heritage.

Day 2: Private Mekong Delta Tour

After breakfast, embark on a private tour to the Mekong Delta, a region known for its lush landscapes and unique waterways. The journey from Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho takes approximately 90 minutes.

 

  • Vinh Trang Pagoda: Begin your adventure with a visit to this beautiful pagoda, renowned for its intricate architecture and peaceful gardens.
  • Coconut groves on a sampan: Hop on a traditional sampan boat to explore the serene coconut groves that line the riverbanks.
  • Coconut candy workshop: Visit a local workshop to see how delicious coconut candy is made and sample some fresh treats.
  • Local village tour on xe loi (tuk-tuk): Experience local life as you ride through charming villages on a xe loi, immersing yourself in the culture.

  • Garden restaurant lunch: Savor a delightful lunch at a garden restaurant featuring local specialties before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3: Private Cu Chi Tunnels Half-Day Trip

Following breakfast at your hotel, prepare for a fascinating half-day excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Your guide and driver will pick you up between 8am and 8:30am, and we’ll depart Cu Chi between 2pm and 3pm to return to Ho Chi Minh City.

 

  • Journey to Cu Chi Tunnels: As you travel, your guide will share insights about the tunnels used by Viet Cong soldiers during the Vietnam War.
  • Cu Chi documentary: Upon arrival, watch an informative documentary that provides context about the tunnels’ historical significance.
  • Explore the tunnels: Venture into the tunnels themselves, learning about guerrilla warfare tactics and how these underground networks were constructed.
  • Shooting range experience (optional): If you’re interested, visit a shooting site where you can fire an AK47 or M16 rifle (bullets not included in tour price).
  • Tea and tapioca snack: Conclude your Cu Chi experience with tea and tapioca – staple foods that sustained soldiers during wartime. 

Day 4: Free Shopping Day & Departure

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, spend your final day in Ho Chi Minh City shopping for souvenirs or exploring any sights you may have missed. Once you’ve completed your shopping or sightseeing, our private transport will be ready to take you back to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for your departure.
